BeBuddha X Tieler James Collaboration

ABOUT THE COLLABORATION: In early 2017, I started following Tieler James on Instagram (@TielerJamesDesigns). At the time, he was a contestant on Project Runway. He followed me back and started to like some of my pics! From there we started chatting and I sent him a pair of earrings. A couple of months later he reached out asking if I could make big tassel earrings for his Fall/Winter 2017 Collection. Of course, I jumped at the chance! These earrings walked the runway in Vancouver and Austin, TX! We even made it into Vogue China!

ABOUT THE STONES: Part of my fascination with jewelry making is the stones. What do they mean? Where did they come from? Below find the meaning of the stones of this particular piece. Please keep in mind that gemstones and semi-precious gemstones have many different meanings to many different cultures- these are just what I’ve found in my research! :)

*** AGATE is THE stone everyone should have for protection. It attracts strength and has been said to protect the possessor from bad dreams. Different types of agate were used in ancient Babylonia to make jewelry. Babylonians also placed them at the head of their bed because they thought agate brought good dreams! It is also known for its power!

***HEMTITE comes from the Greek word for blood. It has been used as an amulet against bleeding, and so is known as the "blood stone". When arranged like the petals of a flower, it is referred to as the "iron rose". Native American folklore states that war paint made from hematite will make one invincible in battle. People in the eighteenth and nineteenth centuries wore hematite jewelry during mourning. Hematite is said to protect the wearer's life energy and guarantee survival. Amulets of hematite have been found in nearly every pharaoh's tomb as a support in the afterlife.
